What does the author expect from a GoKnot forum?

A GoKnot forum should be a place where users can:
  • find help,
  • learn and teach tricks,
  • read and write news,
  • propose projects to the GoKnot community,
  • discuss what should be implemented in GoKnot,
  • exchange textures,
  • . . .

Who can run a forum?

    Anyone who:
  • Is competent in the administration of an Internet Board system, completely of his/her choice.
  • Has good written English. (Of course, I will help anyone who intends to create a forum in any language, but I am seeking a forum in English.)
  • Is a GoKnot enthusiast and has found enough time to test it in depth.
  • Has enough time to answer user questions in less than 2-3 days.

The GoKnot forum may just be a "subfolder" of a more complex forum system, what is important is that you spend some time reading and answering GoKnot questions. Of course, I will always be available to answer what the forum admin doesn't know.

Reading the posts in the forum may not require any login procedure. Writing may require a login to protect from spamming robots but registering must be free of charge.

You may place commercial advertisement in your forum, but you must bear in mind that the audience is the whole world of any age. That advertisement may not be considered offensive by people with different cultural backgrounds.

What will you obtain running a forum?

You can place a PayPal link to register users at your forum. You will cash the registration fee and transfer 50% of the amount to the author, together with the registered user ID for the Users Database. I will mail the registration patcher (Which is mainly a "Thanks Giving program" that removes the "You have been using .." message, since all GoKnot features are always available.) directly to the user. GoKnot registration is forever, registered users get the patcher automatically each time a version is released. All registered users get exactly the same treatment, no matter how they registered.

In addition, I will link from the GoKnot download page to your forum, informing users that they have a community.
