GKE |
GKE is short for GoKnot Engine.
GoKnot is now an open and modular solution. GKE is an open standard for interfacing Go programs with engines. It is designed for
performance and compatibility. Multi-CPU support is implemented at interface level. Nevertheless, it is easy to link
single-thread engines via GKE. As an example, the source code of the engine Gnu_Link is
provided with the GKE toolkit. The installation program below, includes GnuGo 3.6 as a GKE. |
IGS |
IGS (Internet
Go Server) is a telnet based Go server where thousands of players from all over the world can meet to play and
observe Go games. At any hour of the day, any day of the week, over one thousand is a normal number of connected
players. Needless to say, it is fun and a great way to learn Go to connect to IGS. IGS can be found at
IGS. If you install GoKnot, it will connect you to IGS. For playing games, you must register at IGS to get a free account. (IGS is no longer free for all countries, check at IGS to see if you can get a free account.) |
License |
GoKnot is shareware. One license costs
16 Euro. Even if not registered, you can use it without any limitation as long as you wish. When you have used GoKnot for over 10 (accumulated) hours, you will be reminded that you should have registered. You will not be disconnected or otherwise annoyed, just reminded by messages in the message console. GoKnot (c) 2005 - Jacques Basaldúa. |
